Someone will win the chance to name the character in Painted Silver, the next book in the St. Michaels/Silver Mystery series. This time, Abby and the recurring cast of characters go to Plein Air-Easton Art Festival… and everyone is drawn into a web of creative envy, greed… and murder.
The special character is involved in the action from time to time throughout the book. The manuscript is done. The only thing it needs is a name for this character… and a little bit more.
Chesapeake College and I have joined together to hold a Name the Character Raffle. It’s a fun way to give people a taste of the writing process and to raise money for deserving students. All proceeds go to the All proceeds will benefit The Chesapeake College Endowed Scholarship Fund. The winner can name the character after a spouse, friend, parent or grandchild. What name would you give the character… your own?
Plus, there’s a party to celebrate the drawing on July 7th at Banning’s Tavern in Easton. Everyone is invited!
“Being able to combine my love for the Maryland Eastern Shore with all of its history, beauty and quirky personalities with my love of writing is a gift. Now, it’s time to give a gift in return. That’s why I’ve teamed up with Chesapeake College, a school that gives so much to the Shore.”
The special character in the story has dialogue and makes more than one appearance. The winner of the raffle can name the character after a spouse, child, grandchild, best friend – even the winner’s name may be used! It’s up to the winner to decide.
The drawing and party will be held on July 7th 5:30-7 at Banning’s Tavern in Easton, a favorite place of Plein Air artists, visitors and residents. It’s appropriate because Banning’s is one of the settings in the new book, Painted Silver.
To buy tickets, go to www.SilverMystery.com for information and the link to purchase raffle tickets on the secure website of the college. The cost of the tickets breaks out this way: $10 per raffle ticket or 3 tickets for $25, 6 tickets for $50, 9 tickets for $75, 12 tickets for $100.
“It’s so exciting,” said Susan Reiss, the author “when everything comes together: a fun way to benefit the students of Chesapeake College, a celebration of a great local event, Plein Air-Easton and what I hope will be an entertaining story of creativity, jealousy, flirtation … and murder.”
