More than 100 people attended the dedication of the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry in Easton to Kathy Weaver on Tuesday, October 18, 2022. Weaver was honored for her tireless work serving those in need in Talbot County for more than 20 years.

As the crowd gathered in front of the Food Pantry on Canvasback Drive, Weaver greeted everybody by name and thanked them for their support.

Father Michael Angeloni, associate pastor at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church, began the short ceremony. “Kathy is an amazing woman of great faith, whose love for the poor is obvious,” he said.

“She has been the heart and soul of St. Vincent de Paul from the day she arrived in the early 2000’s until she became ill and had to retire a few years ago. Kathy inspires all of us, appealing to our better angels,” said Alex Handy, president of St. Vincent de Paul in Easton.

“Kathy is such a wonderful role model, and when she asked me to take over, I couldn’t say no,” said Kate Mansfield, who now directs the food pantry operations.
