In 2008 the Easton Chapter of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul opened their first thrift center on Commerce Drive in Easton. The Center was a great success which allowed the Center to move to its current location on Canvasback Drive in 2012. From the opening of the first center Marge Boyer, Eleanor Morrell and Ann Seeley have been instrumental in the leadership of the center. Marge and Eleanor are stepping back from their leadership roles but will continue to volunteer. Ann Seeley will be back volunteering in 2021. SVdP owes a great deal of gratitude to these women who have played a significant role in the growth of the center.
Veteran Vincentian Kate Levy will now oversee the operations of the Thrift Store clothing and housewares departments. She will also act as a liaison with the furniture and boutique departments. Linda Featherman will man the on-line scheduling for clothing and housewares. We appreciated their willingness to move into these important roles.
While several of our original volunteers are taking a step back, we are pleased to have a new set of eyes and ears to carry us forward. There are volunteer positions available in all departments at the center. If you can give any time to this wonderful organization, please call 410-770-4505.
Current Thrift Store hours are 1pm to 4 pm on Thursdays and Saturdays. Donations of housewares and used clothing are accepted on Saturday’s from 1-4 pm or until we are filled to capacity. The furniture department is currently accepting donations. Please call 410-770-4505 to arrange a pickup. The center is located at 29433 Canvasback Drive, Easton, MD (Behind Giant and Walmart.)
