E-The Environmental Magazine is reporting that a newly published study of Monsanto’s “Roundup Ready” seeds, (genetically modified to withstand large doses of the herbicide), asserts that crops grown with the seeds have actually generated an 11% increase in toxic pesticides, rather than less usage, as Monsanto claims on its website.
The article further states, “The dramatic spike could lead to an influx of “herbicide residues in milk, meat, or other animal products” and heightened risk for birth defects and other reproductive problems, the study projected. ” Soybeans are one of the “Roundup Ready” crops.
