Easton – On April 19, Deputies from the Talbot County Sheriff’s Office, while working a traffic assignment on Ocean Gateway, observed a motor vehicle exceeding the posted speed limit. The Deputy stopped the vehicle and upon his approach, observed a handgun on the dashboard within the reach of the driver. The Deputy was able to control the driver with verbal commands and recovered the handgun without incident. The handgun was found to have a fully loaded magazine, to include a round in the chamber. The driver was arrested and identified as William Jody Thompson, 38 of Fayetteville, NC. Thompson was processed and taken before a District Court Commissioner who released him on a $2,500.00 unsecured bond. The handgun was seized and will be held as evidence at the Talbot County Sheriff’s Office.
Easton – On April 22, Deputies from the Talbot County Sheriff’s Office stopped a motor vehicle on Ocean Gateway near Rabbit Hill Road for exceeding the posted speed limit. Upon contact with the occupants, the Deputies noted the odor of marijuana coming from within the vehicle. A search of the vehicle revealed a grinder containing marijuana residue. Ashton Elizabeth Jones, 20 of Oxon Hill, MD, a passenger in the vehicle, admitted owning the grinder and was issued a criminal citation charging her with possession of marijuana and paraphernalia. Jones was released upon her signature on the citation.

Why on earth were these people allowed to go free? Do you have to kill someone before you get arrested and jailed in Talbot County? The system is TERRIBLY BROKEN in favor of the criminals. WAKE UP EVERYBODY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Would you be equally upset at the taxes you would have to pay in order to JAIL every CDS offender? You want someone caught with possession of marijuana in JAIL? I think I agree with you about something being broken.
