A fire began behind People’s Meat Market on Goldsborough St on August 11, 1954 at 3:00 in the morning! It crept through the L shaped McCrory’s Variety Store. It took 100 Easton Firemen and another 100 Firemen from St. Michaels, Cordova, Oxford, Queen Anne, Cambridge, Denton, Federalsburg and Preston to put it out! Facts: The “Easton Album” by Norman Harrington. Photo found in the Talbot Historical Society Collection.
