What an amazing 1929 aerial view of Easton, Maryland looking north from Idlewild Park and the Five Corners area of town! Note the dirt streets! The oval tree line lower right shows where the Idlewild Fairgrounds Racetrack used to be! Idlewild Easton High School opened in 1929 and you can see the new small shrubs and tree plantings around the school. To the right you can see where the Claiborne, Maryland to Ocean City, Maryland line and the Clayton, Delaware to Oxford, Maryland train lines intersected! To the left note the way the old Easton Emergency Hospital looked before it’s many additions! Professional Photographer H. Robins Hollyday and his aviator friend Malcolm Hathaway left Talbot County a wonderful documentation of our area in the late 1920’s!
