Friends of the Talbot County Free Library, a non-profit organization, announces a truly unique and fun event, “Among Friends…and Late Literary Legends,” on Friday, January 31, 2014, from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM at the Easton Branch.
Guests will enjoy wine, hors d’oeuvres, door prizes, and an opportunity to meet and chat with the likes of famous authors such as Oscar Wilde, Dorothy Parker, Frederick Douglass, Ernest Hemingway, Mark Twain, William Shakespeare, Agatha Christie, Edgar Allan Poe, and F. Scott Fitzgerald.
Since 1974, the Friends of the Talbot County Free Library have raised funds to help fill the gap between the library’s income and its needs. Recently, Friends provided funds to expand the library’s collections; purchased a special computer and software for the new Children’s Wing; hosts the Brown Bag Lunch Speaker series, and supports the “On the Shelf,” the library’s monthly MCTV program.
