This year’s Tour de Talbot will take place on June 10, 2023 under the umbrella of Talbot Thrive, a non-profit dedicated to safe to healthy and safe outdoor mobility for everyone who lives and visits Talbot County. Riders will leave from the Easton Firehall location on Leonard Rieck Drive in Easton and enjoy one of three routes showcasing the beauty of Talbot County. In 2022, Tour de Talbot had over 400 riders participating, and the event raised over $10,000 for local non-profits such as the YMCA, Mariah’s Mission and Carepacks of Talbot County.
This year’s event promises to be bigger and better, with routes of 30, 40, and 62.5 miles (100 km Metric Century) available to participants, followed by lunch provided by Sprout. Easton Cycle and Sport, who will assist riders with tire air pressure checks. Additional sponsors include Out of the Fire Restaurant, Dock Street Foundation, Discover Easton, WHCP Radio and Easton Utilities.
“We’re proud of the success of last year’s Tour de Talbot, and we’re looking forward to making this year’s event even more memorable,” said Heather Grant, ride organizer and Talbot Thrive Board President. “Our goal is to create a quality event that highlights the beauty of the route and encourages more people to embrace healthy and safe outdoor mobility. By supporting local non-profits and promoting community engagement, we can make Talbot County an even better place to live and visit.”
Rest stops with water and snacks will be available approximately every 15 miles, but will close at 2 p.m. Participants completing the 40 and 62.5 mile routes will be crossing the Oxford Ferry.
