Library to Offer Summer Reading Program for Adults (Why should kids have all the fun?)
Beginning July 1, and running through the end of August, the Talbot County Free Library will offer a Summer Reading Program for adults. Kids enjoy summer reading and prizes—and now adults can too! Each time a patron reads a book and turns in a complete (brief) book review form to the library, they will be entered in the drawing for a $50.00 gift card. Patrons may enter as often as they like. Make Your Own Patriotic Wind Chimes at the Library
On Monday, July 1, from 10:00 a.m. – noon, the Easton branch of the Talbot County Free Library will help patrons celebrate the birth of our nation with patriotic wind chimes they create themselves. All materials for making your own set of wind chimes will be supplied by the library. Easton Library to Hold a Young Writers’ Camp (for ages 10 – 16)
On Monday, Tuesday, & Wednesday, July 1-3, from 2:00 -3:00 p.m., the Easton branch of the Talbot County Free Library will hold a Young Writers’ Camp for youth 10 – 16 years of age. Attendees will learn how to write and draw cartoons, comic books, and graphic novels.
Whether you are a writer who thinks they can’t draw or an artist who thinks they can’t write, you will be surprised at what you can do. Timothy Young, who has written and illustrated 13 books, will teach creative techniques that you can use to become a visual storyteller.
This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Library and the Talbot County Arts Council, with funding from Talbot County and the Towns of Easton, Oxford, and St. Michaels.

St. Michaels Library to Screen Animated Film
On Monday, July 1, at noon, the St. Michaels branch of the Talbot County Free Library will show an animated film, rated PG, on its big, professional screen. On Tuesdays, July 2 & 16, and August 6 & 20, from 4:30 -5:30 p.m., the Easton branch of the Talbot County Free Library will hold an afternoon program in which youth 6 – 16 years of age will have the opportunity to learn and play chess.
