Gently Used Books, CDs, & DVDs Sought for Friends of the Library Big Annual Book Sale
The Friends of the Talbot County Free Library are seeking materials for the big, annual books sale. Donations will be accepted at the library’s Easton branch Monday, October 7, from 9 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.; Tuesday, October 8, from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.; and Wednesday, October 9, from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. The Friends will find a new home for your books, CDs, and DVDs, and you’ll get a tax write-off too! The Friends ask that you donate only those items in good, clean condition.
St. Michaels Library Lunch & Learn: Pete Howell, the Movie Maven
On Monday, Oct. 7, at noon, in the St. Michaels branch of the Talbot County Free Library, Pete Howell returns to share his love and knowledge of movies. Howell’s topic this time is “Handicapped Characters on the Big and Small Screens.” His movies quiz includes questions like: Which actress has won the most Academy Awards? and What are the only three movies ever to score an Academy Award Grand Slam (Best Picture, Director, Actor, Actress and Screenplay)? Library to Host Friends Book Sale Preview Party & Annual Meeting
On Wednesday, October 9, from 5:00 – 7:30 p.m., in the Easton branch of the Talbot County Free Library, members of the Friends of the Library will get first dibs on this year’s Big Book Sale goodies. St. Michaels Library to Offer STEAM Story Time at the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum
On Wednesday, October 9, at 10:30 a.m., the St. Michaels branch of the Talbot County Free Library invites children 5 and younger, accompanied by an adult, to enjoy a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) story time at the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum, where they will learn about lighthouses! Friends of the Library to Hold Their Big Annual Book Sale
The Friends of the Talbot County Free Library’s Big Annual Sale will be open for business in the Easton branch of the Talbot County Free Library on Thursday, October 10, from 9 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.; Friday, October 11, from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.; and Saturday, October 12, from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. The Friends’ Book Sale, filling two large rooms, is open to all, with thousands of books, DVDs, and CDs on sale at bargain prices. All profits from the sale benefit both the Easton and St. Michaels branches of the Talbot County Free Library.

On Thursdays, October 10 & 24 and November 14, from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., the St. Michaels branch of the Talbot County Free Library invites patrons to come in to record and share their memories of life and family with a group of friendly, like-minded people.
