Those wishing to support Talbot Mentors can do so this winter while enjoying the warm hospitality of some of the organization’s friends and board members. Its series of Winter Parties began on December 1 and will continue with two more events beginning at 6:30 p.m. on January 26 and March 16.
Board members Margot Miller and Barbara Noyes are organizing the series and provide the food. The privately hosted parties allow new and old friends to mingle in a casual setting while enjoying fine wine and hors d’oeuvres. The cost is $40 per person, with proceeds benefiting Talbot Mentors’ program of matching Talbot County students with adult volunteer mentors.
Noyes opened her home in December to about twenty guests for the first Winter Party. Some of the evening’s fare included beef tenderloin, shrimp, hot artichoke dip, vegetable and cheese platters, along with a sampling of red and white wines.
Venues for the two remaining Winter Parties will be at homes in the Easton or St. Michaels area, with sites to be determined by the early response. Up to forty guests are welcome at each event. Reservations for the next party are required by January 21.
For more information, to make a reservation for either of the next Winter Parties, or to volunteer as a mentor, call Talbot Mentors at 410-770-5999 or visit www.talbotmentors.org.
