The Academy Art Museum is hosting an Open House for its fall classes on Saturday, August 3, 2013, from 5 to 7 p.m., during Easton’s First Saturday’s Gallery Walk. Participants can meet the Museum’s fall instructors and enjoy a fence exhibition by students of the Museum’s classes. There will be light refreshments and entertainment. The Museum is offering classes in drawing, pastels, painting, watercolor, photography, ceramics, mosaics, and printmaking.
Two new instructors, Patrick Meehan and Rita Curtis, will be offering classes at the Museum this fall. Meehan is represented by Bradley Fine Art, and his landscape paintings, along with other notable San Diego painters, were published in “The Land of Sunlight,” by James Lightner. He lives in Alexandria, VA. Curtis, an impressionist painter with a classical approach, has received international recognition from International Artist magazine, Raymar Art, and the BoldBrush competition. Many of her illustrations are in World Health Organization manuals around the globe.
In the spring of 2014, the Museum will host two exciting workshops: “The Dynamic Figure: A Classical Approach,” by acclaimed artist Robert Liberace and “The Landscape in Pastel,” by renowned plein air artist Richard McKinley.
