Talbot Association of Clergy and Laity (TACL) will host a community conversation regarding “The Talbot Boys” statue on the Talbot County Court House lawn, at 7 p.m., Wednesday, September 9, in the Easton Branch of the Talbot County Free Library. The public is invited to attend.
The event was proposed in a recent discussion between Talbot County Council President Corey Pack, TACL Chairman Bishop Joel Marcus Johnson, and Rabbi Peter E. Hyman of Temple B’nai Israel, as a “listening session” for Council members to hear community thoughts on the statue.
In addition to Bishop Johnson and Rabbi Hyman, the planning committee includes Cynthia Jurrius, Executive Director of Mid Shore Community Mediation Center, and Dr. James Bell, an Easton resident and educator with the Dorchester County Public Schools.
TACL, now celebrating its 50th anniversary, is an interfaith organization promoting the spiritual welfare – compassion, justice, peace, reconciliation – for the common good. It does so through education, relationship building, and the diverse ministries of its members.
