Hurricane Irene toppled trees, flooded roads and parking lots but blew through Talbot County with no major damage reported.
Gov. Martin O’Malley reported that a woman was killed in Queen Anne’s County when a tree fell on her house.
About 120 Talbot County residents spent the night in the County Department of Emergency Services (DES) shelter set up Friday in Easton High School. County school buses were being used to transport people with medical problems from the shelter to their homes.

DES reported that emergency crews assisted by National Guard troops evacuated a family in the northern part of the county and responded to a medical emergency on Tilghman Island.
Several trees fell in Easton where 8.59 inches of rain fell and winds of 25-35 miles an hour blew through the night.
Power was out on the entire Bozman-Neavitt peninsula after a fallen tree pulled down wires along Bozman-Neavitt Road just south of Route 33.
Oxford lost power about 7:30 p.m. Saturday as trees were knocked down throughout the village. A tree in front of the Church of the Holy Trinity fell on two vehicles and at least one house was damaged by a falling tree. Sunday morning, workers were busy clearing village streets of tree limbs and debris. No injuries were reported.
In Rio Vista, a tree fell on a house on Tyler Street and several houses were surrounded by flood waters. A tree took down wires on Water Street in St. Michaels and the large tent protecting the historic skipjack Rosie Parks that is being rebuilt on the campus of the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum was stripped from its frame. The parking lot of St. Michaels Village shopping center was under a foot of water and the northbound lane of Route 33 in front of the center was partially blocked.
About 5,500 Talbot County electric customers lost power during the storm. O’Malley said the most serious damage in Maryland was concentrated in Calvert and St. Mary’s counties on the western shore.
DES officials warned that the high winds could continue to down trees throughout the day.
