On Saturday, March 3, at 2:00 p.m. the St. Michaels branch of the Talbot County Free Library will present a discussion on photography. The speaker will be Susan Ellis, a biological equipment specialist for the USDA where she works with microscopes and digital imaging equipment.
Ms. Ellis’ presentation will focus on close-up photography, one of the most technically demanding genres in the field of photography. This type of work can yield some of the most intriguing images. Susan has recently expanded her photographic interests into infrared and ultraviolet photography and specializes in natural-setting portraits of insects, capturing their remarkable shapes and colors, as well as, their behaviors and expressions.
Susan Ellis is on the faculty at Delaware College of Art and Design where she teaches close-up photography. Susan will demonstrate how taking a little time to get to know your camera can reward you with dramatic close-up images and a way of observing the seldom-seen world of the small.
