A small plane with one person aboard made a safe emergency landing during a rain storm in a farm field near Bruffs Island and Copperville Roads north of Tunis Mills just before 4 p.m. Tuesday, State Police reported. No one was injured.
Troopers reported the single-engine Cessna, flown by a pilot identified as Guy Stamour, had attempted to land at Easton Airport but was not cleared for landing. He circled the airport and ran out of fuel. Troopers said Stamour was able to bring the plane down in a controlled landing in a field about six miles northwest of the airport where they found him uninjured and the plane undamaged. After refueling in the field, Stamour was able to take off and fly the plane to the airport where he made his second safe landing.
