While retailers as a group are quite diverse in background and experience before they open up shop, Bountiful’s Jamie Merida maybe one of the more unique examples of that particular tribe.
The son of American artists living in Europe, Jamie graduated from the Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore with a focus on piano, and then attended Johns Hopkins’ business school before being drawn to the world of antique furniture. That interest, and he and his partner’s desire to leave the big city, led Jamie to open Bountiful in Talbot Town Shopping Center some twenty-two years ago.
In his interview with the Spy, Jamie talks about what has made Bountiful one of Talbot County’s most successful retail operations.
