Lynne Horvath will introduce the October 2 Talbot Cinema Society screening of “Stage Door”, the 1937 film adapted from the play by the same name, that tells the story of several would-be actresses who live together in a boarding house at 158 West 58th Street in New York City. The film stars Ginger Rogers, Katharine Hepburn, Adolphe Menjou, Gail Patrick, Constance Collier, Andrea Leeds, Samuel S. Hinds and Lucille Ball. Eve Arden and Ann Miller, who became notable in later films, play minor characters.
Doors open Sunday at 5:15. Light refreshments and schmooze from 5:15-5:45.
Introduction of film at 5:45, followed by movie at about 6. Discussion to follow.
