Once again, The Church of the Holy Trinity in Oxford will be hosting its annual Christmas Bazaar to benefit the mission work of the church. “Many local charities and non-profit organizations have benefited from our fundraising efforts,” says this year’s Bazaar chair, Margaret Munsch. “Our many volunteers work tirelessly to raise needed funds for the mission work of the church, most of which is local,” adds ECW (Episcopal Church Women) President, Linda Wilson.
To that end, this year’s bazaar, taking place Saturday, December 7, from 9:00 AM – 12 NOON at the Parish Hall of the Church of the Holy Trinity of Oxford, will feature items for sale that continue to be crowd pleasers. Fresh wreathes and centerpieces, homemade baked goods and popular appetizers, canned preserves, and local art are among the favorites, with several local retailers participating in the event. Back again is the ever-popular basket raffle, each with a focus on things to do, eat and enjoy.
New this year is the “Giving Tree” Basket, suitable for donating to a family in need. It includes over $450 in gift cards to local grocery stores and family friendly restaurants, board games, winter mittens and scarves, toiletries, family snacks, and more.
“With the support of local businesses and generous committee members, our baskets are loaded with gift cards to local restaurants and shops, as well as to local attractions such as the YMCA of the Chesapeake, Chesapeake Maritime Museum, Easton Bowl,Adkins Arboretum, and more. Depending upon the basket theme, there is everything from original art, dining gift cards, board and card games, gourmet snacks and baked goods, and gift certificates for outdoor adventures. From gourmet chocolates, coffees, and teas, to a family bowling certificate that includes shoe rentals, pizza, and drinks, there is something for everyone,” says raffle chair, Sandy Kaufman. Tickets for the raffle can be purchased at the Parish Hall in advance of the bazaar, or on bazaar day, with the drawing at 12 NOON. The winner of each basket need not be present to win.
“This is an event for everyone, and former attendees know to arrive early for the best selection,” says Munsch. The Church of the Holy Trinity is located at 502 S. Morris Street, Oxford, and the bazaar is held the same weekend as Oxford’s “Christmas on the Creek,” with events planned throughout the weekend.
