I do not agree with the removal of the Talbot Boys statue. By removing it we are saying our veterans who fought for what they believed in was wrong and has no place in our history. None of us were alive during the Civil War so how can we judge those who fought bravely for what they believed mattered. No matter what we do, we cannot change history. We can only learn from it.

While we still need to stay vigilant and stay safe, Maryland at the state level is giving a misleading view to others around the country and the world because of the way the data is reported by the state to the media. See http://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/us/ for example.
The issue is in reporting Active Cases and Recovered Cases. While the Talbot County figures seem realistic, with a reported recovery rate (as of yesterday) of 53.25%, Maryland overall is showing a recovery rate of only 6.4% as calculated by (Total cases – deaths – recovered) on the Worldometer website from the available data. The coronavirus.maryland.gov website, which is supposed to be the official source of state-level data, does not actually provide a figure for Active Cases or Recovered Cases, so the media is calculating “Active Cases” using the data available, and that data are probably not the same as what is being reported at the state level by the counties for “Recovered Cases.”
This discrepancy results in a misleading conclusion, which wrongly shows that Maryland has the lowest recovery rate of any state – worse than Florida and Texas and all 49+1 others. I think Maryland is actually doing very well in managing the virus and I support the efforts of the administration, but we should be using more accurate reporting to avoid distorting the real picture on where the state stands. Why can’t the state just report what the counties are reporting to them?
