The Talbot Family Network has welcomed Nancy Andrew as its new Executive Director.
“We’re excited to have Nancy join us in the work of building a healthy, safe, caring and equitable community for all Talbot County children and families,” says Marlene Thomas, Chair of the Talbot Family Network Board of Directors. “She cares deeply about the community and works collaboratively which is an ideal fit for our mission.”
Andrew brings over fifteen years of experience in leading community based nonprofit organizations. She has previously served as Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity Choptank and Talbot Mentors. In this new role, she follows outgoing Executive Director Katie Sevon.
“Katie has been a tremendous advocate for children, youth and families in Talbot County,” notes Thomas. Under Sevon’s leadership, Talbot Family Network has supported programs that address unmet needs, and apply strategies that represent pathways to new opportunity and a push for systemic change.
Talbot Family Network is the Local Management Board for Talbot County. Local Management Boards were established by the state of Maryland in the mid-1990’s to change the way that services are provided to children and families in their local communities. Today, Talbot Family Network concentrates on prevention, early intervention, and intervention services to children, youth and families in Talbot County. Tasks include planning, developing and monitoring family-oriented, community-based programs that are culturally relevant. To prevent fragmented and duplicated services in the county, Talbot Family Network serves as the coordinating body for community-level grants and initiatives based on an annual allocation of state funding.
