Each year, the Waterfowl Festival Board of Directors nominates several volunteers for their outstanding work at the previous year’s festival. This year, four special community members received this honor, each representing a different part of the festival.
Teddy Hoover was honored for his many years of service coordinating multiple venues at the festival, including the World Duck and Goose Calling Contest. Chris Earl, a festival volunteer since 2022, works on the structural aspects of the festival serving as the Sign and Banner Committee. Dedicated to his job, he works tirelessly to help visitors navigate the festival. Lori Yates and Stacey Suss partnered up to co-chair the Working Artist’s Forum. A crowd favorite, the venue of over forty local artists was a great place to visit due to their diligence in setting up the venue in an organized and creative manner. They also are both local artists and display their art during the festival.

“The work of our volunteers is incredibly important and we so appreciate them!,” remarked Executive Director Deena Kilmon. “From the volunteers that just started with us to the ones that have been here for decades, each helping hand helps us not only facilitate a great experience for festival attendees but also helps us work throughout the year on our mission to support conservation organizations and environmental education opportunities for our community.”
Committee chairs and co-chairs, administrative assistants, and more are needed now as we plan Waterfowl Festival 2024! Come join the Waterfowl Family! Each volunteer receives a free pass to the festival. Interested persons are invited to sign up online on our website or contact [email protected] for more information.
