It is hard for Women and Girl Fund board member Susie Dillon to contain her enthusiasm for an event she is co-chairing to support the UMMS Clark Comprehensive Breast Center next month. While the WGF event itself benefits thousands of women on the Mid-Shore who are battling breast cancer with locally convenient treatment, which is reason enough to get excited, it is the combination of supporting the Clark Center and also hosting New York Times best-selling author Kathy Corrigan that will make this a very special moment for women throughout the region.
Corrigan has written three books,”Glitter and Glue,” “Lift”, and “The Middle Place,” that detail her moving story of facing breast cancer while raising young children and caring for aging parents. She also talks about the importance of women helping women and the power of their friendships during difficult times in life.
In her Spy interview, Susie Dillon talks about the substantial impact that Corrigan’s writing has had on her own life and the extraordinary benefits that have come with the opening of the Clark Comprehensive Breast Center.
